General information

The following information provides an overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is all data with which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy listed below this text.

Definitions

Unless otherwise explained, labelled or emphasised, the terms "platform", “web page”, "internet presence" or "website" refer both to all browser-based presences of Axon Lab AG (and its subsidiaries) and to all published applications (commonly "apps") and sub-pages (e.g. special "landing pages" or "campaign pages").

Data collection on our website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?

Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find their contact details in this privacy policy.

How do we collect your data?

On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form.

Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is primarily technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of the page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.

What do we use your data for?

Some of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request the correction, blocking or deletion of this data. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time for the future. You also have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances. Furthermore, you have a right to data portability.

You can contact us at any time about this or any other questions about data protection. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Analysis tools and tools from third-party providers

When you visit this website, your surfing behaviour may be statistically analysed. This is mainly done using cookies and what are called analysis programmes. The analysis of your surfing behaviour is pseudonymised; the surfing behaviour cannot be traced back to you. You can object to this analysis or prevent it by not using certain tools. Detailed information on this can be found in the following privacy policy.

2. General notes and mandatory information

Various personal data are collected when you use this website. Personal data is data that can be used to identify you personally. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done. This is not an exhaustive description; other privacy policies or standard terms and conditions and similar documents may regulate specific issues.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is impossible.

Rights of data subjects

You have the right to assert your data protection rights at any time and to obtain information about your personal data processed by us, to correct or supplement your personal data, to revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time and/or to object to the processing of your personal data or to request the deletion of your personal data, unless we are obliged to retain some of your personal data due to applicable laws and regulations. Finally, you may have the right to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a commonly used, machine-readable format or to request the transmission of this data to another data controller.

Please note that conditions, exceptions or restrictions apply to these rights (e.g. if we are obliged to store or process certain personal data, have an overriding interest in doing so (insofar as we are entitled to rely on this) or need it for the assertion of claims). We will inform you accordingly if necessary.

You can contact us at any time about this or any other questions about data protection. We may, at our discretion, require proof of identity in order to process your requests.

Relevant legal bases

Data processing may be based on consent. The processing may then be used to perform our services and implement contractual measures as well as to respond to enquiries. Furthermore, the processing may be based on our legitimate interest or on legal obligations.

Disclosure of personal data

As a matter of principle, we will not pass on your personal data to third parties. However, disclosures may be made if we deem it necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations, in legal proceedings, at the request of the competent courts and government agencies or due to other legal obligations in order to protect and defend our rights or our property.

It may be necessary for us to disclose your personal data to the following categories of recipients in order to provide our services, to comply with contractual or legal regulations or for the other purposes stated in this privacy policy:

  • Companies of the Axon Lab Group
  • Service companies (e.g. in the area of IT, hosting and support)
  • Dealers, suppliers, subcontractors and other business partners
  • Customers
  • Government agencies, official bodies or courts
  • Other parties in potential or actual legal proceedings

The recipients can be domestic or foreign (anywhere in the world). In particular, you must expect your data to be transferred to all countries in which Axon Lab is represented and to other countries in Europe and to the USA, where the service providers we use are located (e.g. Google). If we transfer personal data to a country without adequate statutory data protection, we ensure an adequate level of protection as provided for by law by using appropriate contracts (specifically based on what are known as the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission) or other recognised guarantees (e.g. binding corporate rules, consent in individual cases).

Data security

The security of your personal data is important to us. We take appropriate and suitable technical and organisational measures to maintain the security of your personal data and to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful processing and/or against accidental loss, alteration, disclosure or access. These security measures include, for instance, IT and network security solutions, encryption of data carriers and transmissions, access controls and restrictions, the issuing of directives, confidentiality agreements and controls. We regularly review our safety measures and adapt them to the state of the art. We also oblige our contract processors to take appropriate security measures. However, safety risks cannot be completely ruled out; residual risks are unavoidable.

Duration of storage

We process and store your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the performance of our contractual and legal obligations or otherwise for the purposes pursued with the processing and beyond that in accordance with the statutory retention periods.

We delete your personal data as soon as it is no longer required and in any case after the legally prescribed maximum retention period has expired.

Cookies

This website mainly uses first-party cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. First-party cookies are cookies that come exclusively from us and do not enable what is known as tracking - i.e. across different websites.

Most of the cookies we use are called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit our website.

You can set your browser so that you are informed when cookies are set, and only allow cookies on a case-by-case basis, exclude accepting cookies for specific cases or in general, as well as activate automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. Deactivation of cookies may impair the functionality of this website.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g. the shopping basket function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for technically faultless and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are treated separately in this privacy policy.

We use cookies to ensure the smooth functioning of our website. We use a consent management platform to obtain your valid consent to the use and storage of cookies in the browser you use to access our website and to properly document this: CookieFirst. This technology is provided by Digital Data Solutions BV, Plantage Middenlaan 42a, 1018 DH, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Website: https://cookiefirst.com is referred to as CookieFirst.

When you access our website, a connection is established with the CookieFirst server to enable us to obtain valid consent from you for the use of certain cookies. CookieFirst then stores a cookie in your browser in order to be able to activate only those cookies to which you have consented and to properly document this. The processed data will be stored until the specified storage period expires or you request deletion of the data. In deviation from this, certain statutory retention periods may apply.

CookieFirst is used to obtain the legally required consent to the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Article 6 (1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement with CookieFirst. This is a contract prescribed by data protection law that ensures that the data of our website visitors is only processed in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Our website and CookieFirst automatically collect and store information in what are called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. The following data is collected:

  • Your consent status or the withdrawal of consent
  • Your anonymised IP address
  • Information about your browser
  • Information about your device
  • The date and time of your visit to our website
  • The URL of the website on which you have saved or updated your declaration of consent
  • The approximate location of the user who has saved their consent preferences
  • A Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) of the website visitor who clicked on the cookie banner

Server log files

The provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in what are called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is processed exclusively for the purpose of enabling the use of our websites (establishing a connection), ensuring system security and stability in the long term, optimising our offers and for internal statistical purposes and therefore on the basis of our legitimate interests. This data is not merged with other data sources.

The basis for data processing is our legitimate interest in data processing within the meaning of Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR

Contact

If you contact us using our contact addresses and channels (e.g. by e-mail, telephone or contact form), the personal data you provide to us will be processed by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. Which data is collected in the case of a contact form can be seen from the respective form. Mandatory information in contact forms is marked with an asterisk (*).

The data entered in the contact form is therefore processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR or is in our legitimate interest in the carrying out your request (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an e-mail. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

We will retain the data you provide on the contact form until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage, or the purpose for its storage no longer pertains (e.g. after completing your request). Binding statutory regulations—particularly retention periods—remain unaffected.

Registration on this website

You can register on our website to use additional functions, such as placing an order. We only use the data entered for the purpose of using the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise we will reject the registration.

In the event of important changes, for example to the scope of the offer or technically necessary changes, we will use the e-mail address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The processing of the data entered during registration is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an e-mail. The legality of the data processing that has already taken place remains unaffected by the cancellation.

The data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on our website and will then be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Ordering through our online shop

You can order a wide range of products on our website. For this purpose, we collect various personal data from you (e.g. your name, your address, your e-mail address, payment details, login data). The mandatory information in the corresponding form is marked with an asterisk (*).

We only use this data and other data voluntarily provided by you to carry out your order in accordance with your wishes and to comply with our legal obligations. As soon as you are registered and have a customer account, we will save your data in the customer account for your next purchase. This data is processed to perform pre-contractual measures and to perform a contract (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR).

Processing of data (customer and contract data)

We collect, process and use personal data only to the extent necessary for the establishment, content or amendment of the legal relationship (basic data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data about the use of our website (usage data) only insofar as this is necessary to enable the user to utilise the service or to bill the user.

The customer data collected will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Data transmission upon conclusion of a contract for online shops, retailers and dispatch of goods

We only transfer personal data to third parties if this is necessary in the context of contract processing, for example to the companies entrusted with the delivery of the goods or the financial institution commissioned with payment processing. Further transmission of the data will not take place or will only take place if you have expressly consented to the transmission. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, for example for advertising purposes.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

4. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, Ireland) or Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) ("Google").

Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) and enable analysis of your use of our website. This enables us to evaluate user behaviour on our website and use the statistics/reports obtained to make our offer more interesting. Data about the use of the website may be transmitted to Google's servers in the USA.

Google is certified in accordance with the "EU-US Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework". The "Data Privacy Framework" is a treaty between the European Union (EU) and the USA that is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA. Data is transferred on the basis of standard contractual clauses, among other things, as suitable guarantees for the protection of personal data.

In Google Analytics 4, anonymisation of IP addresses is activated by default. As a result, your IP address will be shortened by Google within Switzerland or the EU/EEA before transmission. The full IP address will only be transmitted to a Google server in exceptional cases and shortened there.

Google uses this information to analyse your pseudonymous use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. When you visit our website, your user behaviour is recorded in the form of events (such as page views, interaction with the website or your "click path") as well as other data such as your approximate location (country and city), technical information about your browser and the end devices you use or the referrer URL, i.e. the website/advertising media via which you came to our website.

The data collected by Google Analytics is automatically deleted after 14 months. You can prevent the collection and transmission of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of our website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de . If you wish to object to interest-based advertising by Google, you can use the setting and opt-out options provided by Google: https://adssettings.google.de/anonymous?hl=de .

Further information on the terms of use and data protection of Google Analytics can be found at https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/de/ and https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics

This website uses the "demographic characteristics" function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be created that contain information on the age, gender and interests of the site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time using the advertising settings in your Google account or use the setting and opt-out options provided by Google: https://adssettings.google.de/anonymous?hl=de .

Google Tag Manager

We use the service called Google Tag Manager from Google. "Google" is a group of companies and consists of the companies Google Ireland Ltd (provider of the service), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland and Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA as well as other affiliated companies of Google LLC.

We have concluded a contract data processing agreement with Google. Google Tag Manager is an auxiliary service and processes personal data itself only for technically necessary purposes. Google Tag Manager ensures that other components are loaded, which in turn may collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access this data.

Further information on Google Tag Manager can be found in Google's privacy policy.

Please note that due to American laws such as the Cloud Act, American authorities such as intelligence agencies could possibly gain access to personal data that is inevitably exchanged with Google when this service is integrated on the basis of the Internet Protocol (TCP).

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our website uses the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google Ads and Google DoubleClick.

This function makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created using Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google Ads and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages that have been adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on one end device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your end devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalised advertising messages can be displayed on every end device on which you log in with your Google account.

To support this function, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data in order to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.

You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account by following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google's privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

5. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No additional data is collected or it is only collected on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example using the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the cancellation.

The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this.

Inxmail

If you have expressly consented in accordance with Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, we will use your e-mail address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. Providing an e-mail address is sufficient to receive the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time, for example using a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can also send your cancellation request to marketing@axonlab.com by e-mail at any time. This website uses Inxmail to send newsletters. The provider is Inxmail GmbH, Wentzingerstr. 17, 79106 Freiburg, Germany. Inxmail is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters, among other things. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored on Inxmail's servers. When we send newsletters by Inxmail, we can determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked on. Inxmail also enables us to categorise newsletter recipients according to various categories (known as tagging). Newsletter recipients can be categorised by, for instance, gender or customer relationship (e.g. customer or potential customer). This data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the cancellation. If you do not want Inxmail to analyse your data, you must therefore unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter message. The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from both our servers and the Inxmail servers after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this. For more information, please refer to the Inxmail privacy policy at inxmail.com/data-protection. We have concluded a contract data processing agreement (CDPA) with Inxmail, in which we oblige Inxmail to protect the data of our newsletter recipients and not to pass it on to third parties.

This website also uses Inxmail for what are called transactional e-mails. All of the aforementioned points apply analogously, except that these transactional e-mails (e.g. order confirmation e-mails) are sent on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR, which permits the processing of data in the context of a legitimate interest or for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

6. Plugins and tools

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to associate your surfing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Further information on the handling of user data can be found in Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Google Web Fonts

This website uses web fonts provided by Google for the standardised display of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google's servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Google Maps

This site uses the Google Maps map service via an API. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, Ireland) or Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) ("Google").

It is necessary to save your IP address to use the functions of Google Maps. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission.

You can find more information on the handling of user data in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

7. Processing of applicant data

Applicant data

When you apply for an advertised position with us through our job portal or submit your applicant profile as part of an unsolicited application, you make personal data available to us. All personal data, including all data you added in the attachments, is stored and used only for purposes of your application. We may record comments on the applicant as part of the application process. With your consent to the existing privacy policy, you authorise us to continue to store all data available in the profile, even after a rejection has been issued, so that it can be consulted in the event of a new application.

Recipient

Your applicant profile is provided exclusively to employees who are responsible for the recruiting process or to those persons who are involved in the decision on your hiring. Your data is handled confidentially at all times.

Deletion

After twelve months, your data on the job portal is subjected to automatic abridgement and used for possible analyses. After twenty-four months, the data is completely deleted. You can withdraw your application at any time and have the data deleted.

Encryption and transfer of data abroad

Automatic encryption ensures secure transfer of your data. We work with an external service provider for the operation of the job portal. As a consequence, applicant data is also stored on servers in Germany. In the course of this, the necessary technical and organizational security measures are undertaken for data security in order to protect the collected data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised third parties. In addition, the hosting service provider is certified under ISO27001 (international standard for information security).
